    ls6 head swap

i have a 2000 camaro mods and times in sig. i know someone with an ls6 z06 that is swapping their heads for some afr's.

now originally i was also wanting those afr heads, but at $2,300 i'll a little iffy on buying them. my buddy wants to sell his ls6 heads for $500 to me...Good deal? and what kind of gains can i see with bolting these right up? also what is the best head gasket to get,i have heard that there is one that is thicker therefore lowering compression(don't want that).

    wanting to run 11's

should i pair these heads with the ls6 GMPP cam? I still want a smooth idle, good mpg (21 right now) and something that will now sacrifice low end torque.

Let me get this right, low 12's w/ a auto(stall), drag radials
Of course lets not forget the tune. Impressive numbers, w/o a cam.
Iam going out on a limb here, but ls6 heads w/ oem gasket thickness will net you around 25hp.
Why not run a cam(mid sizeor even a used ls6 ) with .040 head gaskets to complment the heads. Thats a good price on the set of heads.

I got a BRAND NEW set for 600 complete, so I'd say 5 for used stock LS6 243s is a bit high

yes i have definitely been thinking about a cam to go with these heads. i have been at thunder racing and saw there "old man cam" which gives you around 30hp with other bolt ons. i like this cam because it will still have a factory idle and has the same power curve, just 30hp more everywhere, and with the heads i may see around a 50hp gain and sacrificed mileage or idle quality.

i should see mid-high 11's if i go this route, and still have a daily driver i can count on. and all for under $900
