    THE WS6 THAT COULD

    LS6 cam worth it?

    i have a chance to get an LS6 cam out of a z06 for fairly cheap....i hear the gains are 30 to 40 rwhp...is an LS6 cam worth it for a starter or wait and get a comp cam??

    Personally, I'd pass. If you're going to go through the trouble of a cam swap, you might as well go with something with more oomph. $100 is cheap for a cam, but you could go with a $300 cam for more performance. Granted, you'd need new valvetrain also, which is more money. So, if you're looking to save some dough on the valvetrain, then I guess the LS6 cam is a good choice. But personally, I would hold out.

    i have an LS6 Z06, and thar shitty cam WILL not gain you 40rwhp.
    my Z06 only dyno's about 20-30rwhp more than LS1.
    the LS6 heads and cam MAY gain 30rwhp.....

    get some ported LS6 or aftermarket heads, and get a bigger cam. 224and up.
    and do it right. a H/C job isnt real fun to do.... you dont want to do it more that you have to....
