LS2 Timing chain questions
I bought a chain off a member here and didn't think to ask brand name. I assumed being listed as a new LS2 chain it would be the GM ones vendors are selling. This was not the case! It is aftermarket of some sort but came in a Cloyes box which I know Cloyes is a good chain. Is the factory GM chain better, tighter, stonger? Please advise oh faithful forum.

have you contacted the seller? Was it advertised as a GM chain?

Black- 99 WS.6 - Modified
If the chain is indeed a Cloyes brand chain, it will meet or exceed GM standards. It would be a suitable replacement. As Orion said, the only problem I would have is if it was advertised as a GM brand chain.

He said that he didn't ask for the brand name. That means the brand wasn't advertised I would assume. I hate to assume though
