    LS1 to LS6 head swap

Hey everyone I have a 99 Z28 have a loose lifter and figured since I'm taking the heads off to fix it might as well do a LS6 swap. Was wondering what all would be involved? My full plans are LS6 heads and LS6 intake was also going to see if I could go with LS6 lifters since I'm changing to the 6 heads? I'm also looking at putting in a mild cam what else would I need to change? Any knowledge and help would be grateful thank you all. Will also be putting in a transgo hd2 shift kit with a 2800-3000 stall converter and I'm sure their is more I will need to swap to make that shift properly.

The replacement lifters used now by GM are LS7's which work fine. You'll need pushrods as well. If you are going with an aftermarket cam, which ever supplier you choose can help you with lifter and pushrod selection and take care of all that in one shot.

On heads, ported LS6's are available refurbished and ready to go from many different suppliers so you may want to check around and price shop for something in your budget. Make sure they come with a valve spring compatable to the camshaft you choose. If it were me I'd get everything at one place to lessen the chance of mismatched parts. Texas Speed comes to mind, with cylinder head and camshaft packages that are about as good as anyone and priced reasonable.

Used LS6 intakes come up forsale periodically, expect to spend in the $350 range give or take.

Thanks for the info I had looked at Texas speed several times and was leaning towards them. So after all that is done what about about fuel injectors? Should I upgrade them as well and was also curious about programmers or chips?
