Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
What do you all get with the $1800??
New pushrods??
Personally, I would do a set of Patriot LS6 stage II heads and a much better cam than the LS6 cam for $1500 total. You would be looking at making 410 at the wheels instead of 405 at the flywheel.2008 Trailblazer SS
Yank PTB3600, Kooks 1 7/8" LT's, 4" intake, E-fans, Magnaflow, Sonnax kit, tranny cooler, tune.
Lowered, HID's, tinted.

A new cam is roughly $400.
Those heads are $1200.
So $1600....my bad.
I would link...but they aren't sponsors. Check out LS1's sponsors first.

Patriot LS6 heads (stage II) - $1295 assembled.
Cam - $380.
Guess I was off a little on the price of the heads. Still.
I wouldn't go with a Patriot grind for a cam. TSP, Thunder, Futral, etc all have great off the shelf grinds. Or you could have a custom grind designed for your car. Ed Curtis I believe is the name when it comes to a custom cam. Little more expensive, but will be spot on with your set-up.

If your looking for ls6 heads, try talking to the GTO guys. Lots of them are upgrading their heads to aftermarket. The ls2 head is a 243 casting the same as an ls6. You can usualy find a used set for cheap...

Sunset Orange Metallic-M6- 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
A friend of my father's has an 2004 Z06 Commemorative Edition Corvette, and he swapped out his heads and cam, and he said hed give me a deal on them if i wanted to put them in my 2002 Trans Am WS6. so depending on the price, is it worth it?, will i get a significant gain or is it not even worth it? i was originally going to put Cartek 2x heads and cam in, but not for a few years. if i get the LS6 parts cheap enough i figure i can always sell them later and get the Cartek parts when im ready
any suggestions or experiences?

Remember what a C5 is rated at???
350 horsepower
The LS6 is rated at 405 horsepower. 55 more horse with the LS6 cam and heads. Of course, this also needs the LS6 intake and a tune.
I think for the work involved, you might as well go bigger with a head swap.
For the money a set of used heads and cam cost, it is worth the money.
I hope those two lines together make sense.

Sunset Orange Metallic-M6- 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
within the next month i was planning on installing Pacesetter LT's, a TSP Y pipe w/ cats, and a magnaflow catback. then my father mentioned the LS6 heads and cam for cheap.
so i think ill go with the LS6 stuff for cheap, cuz i wasnt planning on putting in heads and cam any time soon, and its a nice modest performance gain (especially for the money!)
then maybe naxt year or over summer 3.73 gears , a 3200 stall convertor, and possibly a Moser 12 bolt, will compliment the setup.
thanks for the help
