    LS1 in 67 CHEVELLE CODE ERROR P0342

I RECently installed a LS1 in my 1967 Chevelle. I had all the ecu computer done right. When i test drove my car, the 1 and 2 gear kinda bogs out at 4000 rpm. I put a code reader in my computer and an error code P0342 came up. IT said CAM SHAFT POSITIONING SENSOR LOW INPUT. So I went to the local dealer and bought ME A NEW CAM SHAFT SENSOR and replaced it. Still having the same problem. I think this is what causing my car to not run right... Can someone please help.... thanks, Doug

yes that will cause major problems your timing could be pretty far off. The only thing i would know to do is take it to a tuner and have him take a look at all the ecu settings and what is going on

The code is for sensor circuit low voltage. Check the red wire (terminal c/ connector c2 terminal39) for voltage (12v) and the pink/black (terminal b/ connector c1 terminal 61) for ground, the remaining brown/white wire (connector c1 terminal 73) is the input from the sensor to the pcm. If all wiring checks out good (proper voltage, good resistance etc.) then you have a bad pcm. Good luck.
