You can use all the same internals, heads with both, you will hear people saying oh yea well I have a ls6 it's better than the ls1 when it is not true!!
so at thge end ls6 and ls1 is the same block only the internals change?

i still have to get a new block cuz like i said before i dnt want to rebuild the motor i got.. cuz here in cali who knws what can happened..

The comp star kit from Callies cost me 2200$. That's crank, rods and piston. All forged. If you are gonna do it I say save your money and do it right the first time. You get what you pay for in my opinion.and I know my motor was honed 5 thousandths, stock piston will work but you will need bigger rings.

on my stock pistons idk how good they are since the motor has 125xxx miles on it.. so idk how good they are,

for the labor the guy charges me $1000 he could do it for $800 if i go with some who had take a motor with him before..
its a machine shop i heard the guy do a good job,, my mechanic wants $1500 just for labor,,

Yes the kit comes with everythig except bolts, I went with ARP main studs.
Forged is a lot stronger than the stock parts. The comp star rods are H beam which are a lot stronger to.
Cost me around 1000 for labor.

my car is m6 daily driver and i dnt want to drop my gas economy to bad..
i knw its goin to change but i dnt think that crazy..

whats the differnce from ls1 heads to ls6? just the light weight valves?
cuz if its just that im sure i can buy the same valves and springs for my stock heads and do the port job on them..

Definitly change your lifters, since you have to pull the heads to get to them. The rockers you can change anytime. I don't know the differences between the heads. I do know that the ls1 came with 2 different heads, the 98 ls1 came with 908 heads and 99 and up came with the 241 head. The 241 are the better of the 2 not exactly sure why. I have ported 98 heads with stock valves. After I get a rear I will be putting a head and cam package on it.

The 98 are 806 not 908. Do a Google search I found a lot of good info on all the heads on some other sites

Not a stroker right now. But I have been wanting to do some more upgrades to my motor in the future. Unfortunately, the timing couldn't have been more wrong. Rocker and valve spring broke dropping the valve into the cylinder causing the piston to bend the valve and punch a hole in the piston. All this after crawling through an intersection in slush at low RPMs.

on the cam im open to ideas, if its smog legal better,, i was told 224/224 is legal and makes good power,, i was thinkin on 224/228,
on the block ill be using the ls1 or ls6 depending on what deal i can get..

i have a friend his selling me a 5.3 motor with 70xxx miles.. could i use those internals? he wants 500 dollars for it,

my buddy said not to get the 800 kit cuz a good kit could cost bout $2500 to $3000
yes your gonna need new piston but im unsure if you can get them in the proper length rods that are the stock length. most aftermarket rods/pistons use the 6.125 rod.
