LQ9 information..
can someone give me a link or explain the LQ9 6.0l
looking at it, it has more displacement and torque than an ls1 but roughly the same hp, why is that?
is it basically a direct swap with a '98 ls1, or is there much more involved?
would you suggest an ls6 or an lq9 to replace?
thanks guysLast edited by justinmc978; 12-06-2009 at 06:23 PM.

Because engines don't make horsepower, they convert fuel into torque. That is a function of displacement. Horsepower is a function of that displacement and RPM. The truck engine does not generate as much torque high in the RPM range as the LS1, by design.
I left things out for the purpose of oversimplification.

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
It has more displacement, but also has heads and cam designed for lower end torque.
My stroker is a LQ9.
