lq9 6.0 build
This is my first ls motor. I am putting it in a 95 formula.
It has 60,000 milles on it.
Here is what I want.
A mean street car.
It will have a 4l80e trans
guessing convertor around 2800
3.73 gears
all accessories
Was looking at ported 243 heads
I am also very interested in l92 style heads and intake.
I would like to make 425 to 450 to the ground and be drivable. If that is not doable then I can adjust power for drivability.
Haven't gotten a cam yet. Thought about a torquer V2
Ideas appreciated

I think you chose the right spot, to come.
The guys are going to need things like budget, is it going to be your daily driver, what is your definition of drivable, does your woman need to be able to drive it, if so is she a bad bitch.JK but seriously these are things you need to think about. also in my opinion a quarter mile goal helps out alot, if your looking for a fast car there are quite a few variables. Honest goals=real outcomes.
There are alot of strong opinions here, keep that in mind.
Happy wrenchin,

Not really looking a drag strip car. I just want a weekly driven car with great power with the 6.0 motor. Probably will drive car 75% of time. Beach trips, cruise ins, and what not. If I had to put a ET on it. Hoping to be able to run mid to low 11's in 1/4 mile.

A higher convertor will help alot. Like 3600-3800. Take a few tenths off with just that.

You can also go with the 5.3 stg 2.5 heads for a compression bump.... But pretty much what you have mentioned will get you around 425+ hp.
I didnt see you mention anything about an intake? Fast 92 or 100
O and 425-450hp with a 6.0 should be achievable pretty easy1967 Camaro - LS1 T56 project

I agree but it will not be cheap. In all reality I am in the process of rebuilding one now, and I would probably be better off buying a crate engine, but I want to biuld it myself. And I am doing so because if I decide to put more head and cam at it, I know the short block can handle it. Unless you expect him to run the stock short block? Cast pistons and all. Also If it is going to be a comfortable driver I don't think you would want a big cam and stall. Therefore you would be working to get into the 12s low 13s with 400 ft lbs.

My buddy had this on his '99 SS. They were Patriot heads with the V2 cam, dynoed 458 to the wheels, although the previous owner said it was probably botched by 15-20. I find it pretty believable, because the tune definately wasn't the greatest. But even with a half assed tuned, the car still rolled out! With a 6 speed and the factory 3.42s, once that thing got into 3rd it was a monster!

One of the magazines did a build on it. Stock lq9 with l92 heads and ls3 intake. Used the exact comp cam and made 518hp and 474 tq. That was at the flywheel
