lq4 should i buy it??
so my 460rwhp ls1 blew up the other day.....broke a rod in #4. My mechanic said he has a lq4 with all the machine work done new cam bearings in it etc, and all I need it the intake and heads (fast 92/92 and prc stage 2.5) from my car and a rotating assembly for it to work. I know thats basicaly everything, but he only wants $500 for the block and since he built the last engine the labor is on the house.. any sugestions?? i was thinking about a 408 maybe bigger. any input is greatly needed. and that means you luos, alwyas helpfull and seeing as how you have what I want..500+rwhp..

If he can do all the crank clearancing for the stroker and get a good deal on the parts I'd go for it

id go for it. good price, plus he can do all the labor for free. heck yes. I went with a 408, I almost wish i would have gone with a 402 (just to leave room for a freshing up later) but either way you go you will be happy. what cam do you have now? you might want to go bigger
