LQ4/LQ9 engines...
Ok guys. I'm new to this motors and I have no clue bout intervals either.
I need some help from you.
A while ago I posted a thread asking some feedback on 383/402 stroker kit.
I did some research and the 383 was good for my
Needs.
The kits are kinda expensive. Almost $2000 for just the kit
Plus new/used block ls1/6
Now I want lq4/lq9 motor for my ss.
I heard those can make some nice numbers with ported heads,LTs, nice cam, ms3 ms4 maybe?
My questions.
Do I have to do any modifications to make them fit on my car?
Do I have to run bigger injectors for that motor or I can use the stock ones on the ls1?
How are the stock heads on this motors?
Porting them should be ok?
I knw I have to get the car tunned for that. But do I need new PCM wires since it's a different motor or I can use all I have in my car right now?
I forgot to add. I'll be getting an ls6 intake too
Thanks for the help.. I hope this is not to hard to read lol

They are practically the block other than bore and being iron....all you really have to do is drill and tap a hole on the front of the lq4/9 for the alternator bracket.
Everything can swap right over from the ls1 block except the pistons of course. But when it comes to the injectors it mainly depends on your particular fuel needs with your can choice.
Also going to a larger displacement motor a large cam will be much more tame than in the stock 346.
Your computer will work fine, just need a tune.
Hope I helped!

well if it was me, i would get one of them (6.0L), for the best price you can and just do a stock bottom end rebuild and throw on the cam and heads you want with a good intake and call it done
again thats just me, im sure others have there take on the matter
and if your wanting a stroker then thats going to cost some more bc youel need the insides lol

If you can, pull a head. Lq4 has dashed pistons, lq9 has flat top pistons
