    Low Oil Pressure

I just bought a 1999 SS from the original owner (68 year young women) oil pressure seems to stay at 40 psi and the gauge doesn't react, I'm thinking of changing the sending unit but after reading up on these engines I worry about the oil pump and or the o-ring. By the way the car has an auto trans and 70,000 miles on it.

It drops a bit at idle, the needle does bounce a little, going to do an oil change tomorrow, any recommendations on oil and filter, I use Mobil one 10-40 in the wifes truck and Valvoline race oil in everything else.

Id change it with Valvoline Syn and if its at 40 idle and drops down to about 35 at long idle your fine. Ofcourse if you gas it should go up, but listen to Danger731 and check it either way shouldnt take more then a couple of minutes to check and its always better to be safe then sorry.
