KNOCKING noise

when i start my engine, it knocks/taps until oil warms up. is this a comman thing?

probably piston slap........very common..........usually never a problem, just annoying. It get better when then engine is warm because the metal expands.

I heard it's due to the aluminum blocks. has to do with the metal or something? I dunno, I have it tho, not a big deal.

mine sounds like a peterbuilt when it really cold

it could be lifters or a rod bearing. thats what happen on mine. and no piston slap is not normal man. thats not good.

uh any knocking is not a good thing unless ist knocking the bottom out of some girl

Would suggest taking it to a dealer under warrenty but I am thinking thats out of the question in 2007. Hope its already, lots of talk about this awhile ago. I think it was a GM service bulletin.
