How can u tell if valves are straight, without compression test. What type of mods on engine. What does oil look like? Only a couple of things it could be. Crank bearing/rod bearing. If you look at this way, if the engine has stock internals then there is nothing for any thing to come in contact with each other.

I'd say a spun bearing or a lifter took a shit on you.

With the rockers off all the valves are sprung shut an through line of site they look straight plus I put a straight edge on them. Also there is no smoke when it's running. Mods are LT headers an ORY

How do I post a audio. It's loud enough to hear over the headers. And it's only heard when you rev it a little. The litters push rods and rockers are all fine

Might as well just take the engine out at this point... no matter what it is, you will have to take it apart... if it spun a bearing, the crank will need turned. If he broke a rod bolt, the rod will need replaced...

My original motor had a spun bearing and it had a very loud knocking sound too. I decided to buy a 6.0 short-block instead of rebuilding the damaged 5.7 block.

Ya all this over a fight with mommy. An then someone told him to drive it till it dies and he is I tried to tell him not to. But he thinks he can kill it then rebuild it. Let's see what he says after he puts a new dip stick hole in it from throwing a rod.

Cut open the oil filter and see if any bearing material is present......
