Knock in New Engine?
Still tuning the car. But have been hearing a knock from the engine. I first thought it was my exhaust hitting. But can't find anything wrong. I hope its not the engine.
When I bring the idle up, I can't hear it. So not sure it is the engine. but it sounds nasty.
Going to talk to the builder tomorrow.

Sounds like a rod knock to me and my buds. I don't know what to say... I would talk to him asap.

God I hope not. Shouldn't the knock speed up with the engine?
When I rev it, it gets quiet. The tune isn't quite there yet, so the idle is very rough.
I was thinking something was hitting.

That never stops being funny to me
If it was a knock, it would 9/10 increase with engine RPM. I can barely hear it over the whine actually. Im sure its more loud in person. Really need to get that engine builder in person to listen to this.

Didn't read your whole post until now, but if you rev it up and the knock goes away, then it wouldn't be a rod. Builder asap and then back to report to us asap

I am thinking its not a Rod. But damn, in person it sound nasty.
I just uploaded another tune and my idle is much better. So the engine isn't shaking as much. So that knock isn't as profound.
Still going to talk to the builder.

How many miles on this current shortblock Ed? Is this the same shortblock you had oil pressure issues with a while ago? After being able to turn my volume up more, I do hear it... and it sounds nasty. Did the builder give you the bearing clearances that he got? Its weird that a different file made the 'knock' more quiet. You sure nothing is hitting?

About 100 miles. Same engine, different block and springs.
No I am not sure, I am still hoping something is just hitting. But not sure where it is.
The different file made the engine smoother at idle. So less shaking.
