    knock in motor????

    I have a 98 WS6 with heads, cam, injectors, mass air meter, throttle body and a dry kit. it has a knocking noise that is loud at idle and gets a little better when you rev the motor. the car has 57000 miles. it does not smoke, idle bad, and oil pressure has not changed. I have disconnected the convertor to eliminate the trans or convertor being the problem. I have pulled the belts off to eliminate it being anything up front. I have also changed the oil and filter. I have pulled 1 valve cover so far and it looks like new and no shavings. Do the short blocks have many problems usually? The lower end is stock. Any ideas????

    LS1s are notorious for that.

    You might have stretched a rod bolt.

    We found it. the flywheel bolts came loose. thank you for your input.
