initial timing issues

This is a discussion on initial timing issues within the Internal Engine forums, part of the LSx Technical Help Section category; How do I set the initial timing on a fresh rebuild? I've never built one from the ground up....

    although I've never had the crank out of mine I would assume you just line the dots up the same as when you're doing a cam swap.

    are you asking about setting intial spark timing or cam timing?
    Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge
