    2000 Camaro Z28

    i need some input quick...

    ok so i have a 2000Z m6. my buddy has an 06gto. i know he has 243 heads which i can use. but it was pointed out to me that his cam is the same as an 01z06. will this swap work n if so is it even worth the effort. keep in mind its gonna cost me next to nothing.
    also if i go through with this [243+cam]what else am i going to need to pick up to do the install

    The ls2 cam is alittle different than the ls1 cam. Could you swap them, yes, but you would need an lse front timing cover (ls2s have the cam position sensor mounted in the front cover, ls1s have the cam sensor in the rear of the block right behind the intake)

    I don't think you'd be happy with the small gain in power from that swap, I'd save up the money and buy a larger cam like a 228.

    And don't forget, with any cam swap you need at a minimum better valve springs and should get hardened pushrods too
