How long are the pushrods in a stock ls1

I need to replace a stock pushrod and I need to know the length, a part number would be great! can i replace a stock pushrod with an aftermarket rod as long as it is the same length? thanks.

7.40 inches. Yes you can replace it. I highly advise chromoly hardened pushrods.

...I went with the chromoly hardened pushrods when I did my cam swap with springs and crap.

but why are CHP better on a stock ls1, I would think on an over-rev (bc thats what happen to me) you pushrods will give rather then something eles giving. Having CHP and something like this happening...

    does that make sense?

I would stick with stock pushrods unless you have upgraded your valvetrain as well.

Stock is 7.400", but they have a slight variance from the factory.

The valvetrain is pretty strong except for the pushrods and springs. With those two you have the capability of spinning over 7,000 rpm. Plus if you bend pushrods there's the possiblilty of damaging the heads

    Basicly.

Stick with the stockers until you start adding seat pressure with upgraded springs...which come with a cam.
Stockers can be gotten for free as well...tons of people have them sitting around. I am out myself, but I was giving them away when I had them.
