Pewter- 2000 Trans Am
How do I safely remove my PCM
Nothing wrong with it theres just a piece of plastic or a metal cap under it and i want to get it out, because I'm affraid during driving it might some in contact with it and can/might cause to gound out. thanks

Theres a couple 10mm bolts that hold the casing in. But I removed my motor to so you might not have to take it out that way. If not theres a plastic clip that holds the pcm into the case (I can't remember if its one big one in the middle or 2 one each short side). safe to disconnect battery, then remove the to bolts holding the wire connectors to the pcm, then push down on the clip and wiggle free the pcm. If I'm wrong someone please pipe in

thats what I'm affriad of doing, if i wiggle it, wont that cause it to break or something? I guess im gonna have to disconnect the battery and remove the harness. and yes i have seen those plastic clips.

done it quite a few times now... just unbolt and pull obviously be careful but its really not that fragile...
