Put it back to stock, and write a letter to GM. I could see a special policy. I work for gm and ive stuck a brand new ls1 in a 02 firbird with 80kish on the clock. Cause it had cracked two pistons.

really? well couldn't they see that my cpu was altered (tuned) and that I had taken the car high into the RPM range (mostly at the track) and tell me to F%^$ off...???

Just out of curiosity, did you have an ls6 block? That alluminum looks pretty dark. I realize it might be dirty and oil saturated, but thats usually one way of telling them apart. Oh, and did you figure out why that happened, thats sucks really bad.

I'm pretty sure I have an Ls1 block, but I have an Ls6 block coming tomorrow!!! I still haven't pulled the motor, but will hopefully get started this weekend. I think I threw a rod.

Short block. It's actually used, but I got a hell of a deal on it so I couldn't pass it up.

This thread is 2 weeks old, have you pulled it down to see what actually happened yet? Never seen one die out of the blue like that before... Had it been sitting through a long hard rain before this happened?

With any luck I will be pulling the motor this weekend. I turned 21 last week, and all my friends want to take me out, so I ay have problems working on the car

The car actually WAS sitting for about 3 or 4 days of hard rain, so I'm kinda wondering if she swallowed some water...I think your tune made it die haha J/K man, I'll actuall be coming to you at the end of this winter/spring to have it tuned

I ask this because I have seen some goofy stuff as of late including cylinders full of water after rain. It seems that our cowls have a seam in the middle, and if they do not seal well, water will puddle on the intake. This water seems to somehow make it's way past an injector o-ring and fill a cylinder... it has happened to my car and several friends. My forged motor, fortunately, broke my starter in half when it happened.

that is crazy... you'd think the motor would hydrolock before it would blow up... not good either way...

That is wierd that it does that. I had a boat that would occasionally get water in the engine. I would crank with the throttle wide open for a minute or two and that would get the water out and it would start right up.

Damn, you're lucky having only broken your starter!!! I'm guessing having forged guts helped? I was wondering if the car sucked in some water, because this all happened the 1st time I started it; Which was about a week after the 3-4 days of hard rain.

this problem has affected only TAs that I have seen personally... it happens on the passenger side and next-to-last cylinder.
