Does the oil pressure rise when you increase engine rpm? The old rule of thumb is that you want at least 10 psi for every 1,000 rpm. My stepson's '05 truck with a 5.3 has about the same oil pressure reading that you have described and he has had no issues. I was going to verify oil pressure by plumbing in my test gauge, however, he hasn't brought it over to work on it so must be he isn't too concerned.

Try putting a mechanical oil pressure gauge on your engine and run it hot and cold. It does not sound too bad, I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee and it runs 45psi cold but it will move to 6 or 7 psi when hot and at idle. As an engine wears the clearences will widen and you will lose some pressure, it is just the nature of the beast.
