    HELP with 243 Heads!!!

Wanted some input on something. I've gone over this and so has my friend and we are stumped. He got an LS6 Block and a set of 243s which are the newer style, he got them second hand. We were putting the motor together and noticed two of the coolant passages on the top of the head are blocked off. One on the driver side rear where the plug goes, and one on the passenger front where coolant flows across to. It looks as though it was plugged with something or something broke off into it.

    And input helps out
    Thanks

    Here's what it looks like
Just odd it's on opposite ends of the motor

Never seen that before, looks like something has broken off in there. Have you tried to see if you can remove it? You say the other side is not plugged like that side?

I've heard of the factory plugging up the two rear sections but one head is blocked up front and the other in the rear. The other two are open like normal, but it's the front ones that are important since thats where the coolant flows.

And my friend took the pic, i wear shoes

No real way to pull it out unless we drill it out. Some people have told me some heads come like this and to punch or drill them out

BTW in case anyone is wondering they were both drivers side heads, plugs were meant to block off the rears of both sides and being that they were for the same side one plug ended up up front and the other in the back
Used a punch and pushed it through. Sucked it out of the block with a vacuum
