which heads for my application?
i tried this on tech and didnt get any real responses. just copied and pasted what i posted. any help?
im not guna pretend that i know what im talking about ive been searching around for a few days now and cant come up with my own conclusion. im looking for budget heads. i dont know whats best for my setup though. heres what im working with
99 LS1 (STOCK)
226/226 .584/.584 112+4 XER---TR 7.4's---918's
intake
p&p throttle body
Truck intake manifold
pacesetters/ory/exhaust
asp underdrive/alt overdrive
4.10
A4
3600 stall
FULL BOLT ON
this is all in an extended cab silverado. ive looked mostly into Patriot ls6 castings and the PRC 5.3 or ls6 castings. im not worried about quality or customer service from either vendor. i know both are top notch. my question is which head would work best with my combo. what is the ideal compression for a daily driven truck? patriots come with double springs and ti retainers. it sounds like the better "deal" to me, but im willing to swap my 918's over to the prc heads if the gains would be better. 93 octane is available all around me and custom tuning isnt an issue. what do yall think?

Do you have an LS1 or an LM7 in the truck? I would go with the patriot heads...

i swapped in a LS1. everyone always asks me that on camaro boards haha. its a 99 LS1 853 heads stock bottom end.
in this texas heat i could only muster a 8.25 @ 83 n/a in the 1/8 so im hoping heads will put me in the 7's before the winter...then the real fun begins around january!
am i naming my threads wrong? should i name it something genaric like "prc ls6 vs patriot ls6??? im someone actually looking for real advice about which will work best in my application instead of "whos nuts do you swing from" and i cant get many responses to my threads on here or tech. maybe ill just flip a coin hahahah. thanks for the help twisting
[/rant]haha.

You could always buy my 243 casting Patriot Performance heads. I think that they will flow 260CFM at 0.60" valve lift.
