$25 for the spec sheet and $350-ish for the came to be made is not much more than an off-the-shelf cam.

If you want to stick with a pre-made cam, I would bump it up from the 228R. I had the next one up from TSP (Torquer V.2) and absolutely loved it. For the bigger cubes, I bet you could do the Torquer V.3 and still find it enjoyable to drive, especially since you're an M6. Call TSP and talk to them about it...advice is free from them.

Custom grinds are going for $375-425 these days, Jeremy at lease they were 2 months ago when I was looking at them.

All those prices are right around the same as the pre-made cams at TSP ($399). I will definitely call them once I have found out what is wrong with my car. Gotta get the AC fixed first (I car pool to work), and sometime early/mid July will have the engine looked into.

SO, I am the newbie here, and how do I tell if my junk-yard 5.3 has 243 heads?? My engine is from a 2002 Tahoe that gots hit by a train in the back end... Do I need to remove the coils and valve covers to check a casting #? Thanks in advance, BACON

it will say 243 on the left lower corner of the heads. IIRC you can clearly see it on the drivers head.
