    Heads and Cam on LS1

I'm shopping for heads and a good cam for my 00 Camaro. I know pretty much what I want to do to the stock block as far as mods... I'm looking for it to be a good track car with the possibility of squeezing a 75-100 shot of Nitrous. I've been looking at Texas Speed & Performance's Magic Stick 4 Cam and AFR Head combo but I've heard that this isn't the best cam for nitrous because of the huge overlap... here are the specs:

Magic Stick V.4 239/242, .649"/.609" Camshaft With Your Choice of Lobe Seperation (111 LSA Standard)

    here's what I have:
    Ls1
    6 speed
    Centerforce clutch
planning to put in 4:11 posi, FAST LSx Intake and Throttle Body, SLP lid, and full SLP exhaust including long tube headers

What would any of you recommend for my app?

123MPH with a 200shot and H/C? I will assume you mean it traps 123 OFF the bottle; because it should. That's a damn great ET for a 6-speed with that MPH, must have 60'-ed in the 1.4s or lower???

First off do not buy slp headers or exhaust. They suck and set way too low. Pacesetters are much better and fit extremely well with no ground clearnce issues. I would also get a magnaflow or Borla cat back or a true duel set up before I bought anything from slp. Their stuff is outdated, expensive and has horible fitment issues.

Also I would skip the gear swap and go strait to a 9" ford rearend, With all the horse power you will produce, your 10 bolt will fall apart in 1.5 seconds the first time you run it at the track with stickies on.
2000 SS Camaro Heads, Large cam, Fast 90, 9"w/430's and locker, yada yada yada... you get the picture

I'm lookin into a strange 12 bolt right now... I have a friend doing a 9" in his Lt1 and he's got to change quite a bit to do that... and yea... I'm aware of SLP's ground clearance problems... I haven't decieded yet for which header though...

if you buy a 12 bolt be prepared for your gears to whine. A 9" is much better for a 6 speed. I had no issues putting mine in.

Have you took it to the track and dumped the clutch at 3500-4000 rpm a few times on stickies? If you do I bet it will.

If he runs 10.76 @ 123 mph, then I'm pretty sure he does.

Where did you hear that cam wasn't good for nitrous? Yeah it may not be ideal for a big shot of 200+, but I can tell you firsthand that cam LOVES at 100 shot!

well I was talking to a friend who has a smaller cam than the ms4 and then I have a friend who has the ms4 and they both run nitrous... forgot what shot... but the friend with the smaller cam ran 12.0 and the other ran 12.6 in the 1/4.... i am aware that there are other variables contributing to this as well....

If your friend with the MS4 and nitrous is only running a 12.6 then I think we all know what the problem is there.

Is yours the M6 or A4. If its the M6 I was wondering how many RPM you are running at 75mph on the highway in 6th.
