    Head Swap-Gasket ????

I am getting ready to swap an LS1 into my 70 as you may have read already in the other thread. I have an 02 LS1 with 22k miles ready for the swap. I have since bought me a set of LS6 heads to go on this motor. When I do the head swap, I am curious as to what head gaskets would be the choice way to go. I would not mind a small bump in compression as it would only serve to help. But, If by going to a thinner gasket it is going to start causing PTV issues I hope not to get to that point.

What is the stock thickness of Head Gasket? I know GM offers some MLS gaskets. Would it be worth my time to invest in these gaskets? I don't want to add more maintenance to the routine if I can help it.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
