i know that the 243 heads are the ls6 heads, are these ls6 as well just a different casting number?
and too check them out i would ask him to take them to a machine shop and have them checked out, and i would talk to the machinist, just tell him if you are confident you will take them to a shop, and if they come out clean and good you just tell him you will pick up the bill, i think maybe like 50 to 100 bucks to have them thouroughly looked at,
thats just piece of mind you know?
up to you, this is what i did when i bought heads for my sbc, they were afr's.

241 heads came on the corvettes and the 01-02 f-bodies. slightly better than the 853 heads that come on the 99-00 f-bodies.
Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

224 or 228 duration, 580s or 590s lift, as for the intake, they are all pretty much the same, and throttle body i dont know, maybe you will be better off getting yours ported and polished.

I wouldn't buy em. Just cause they've been ported by "somebody" doesn't mean they'll make good power. PRC LS6 heads from Texas Speed are proven and only $900 and change. Why go thru all the trouble and money for some heads that may perform good to save $400. Not on my car.

red- 2001 formula
I dont want to hijack this thread but last year I had to replace the engine in my 01 formula and the old engine heads were the #241 castings and I got a replacement engine from a 2000 Z-28 and the engine and heads were casted also #241. Does this mean that the engine I purchased was possibly a newer engine? Is there a block identification number I can find out the year of this engine? Either way it is an ass kicking engine with 57K on the Z-28 odometer.
