i believe those heads go on a 402 so for those to work im thinking your gonna have to have the engine bored out to a 402.

ahhh.. ok. so i guess these would be more likely to use. but in addition, what would need to be done. since i wouldnt need to bore out with this set.

AFRs are great heads but there are cheaper ways to go. Texas Speeds PRC LS6 heads give great results for about $1000 less. TS also has many more cams to choose from. Either way not a bad kit there. You're gonna want some long tube headers and a dyno tune from a good shop. This article will tell you everything else you need.

No not mandatory. Reread the article a few times, may seem easier then.

That LS1 how to article was written along time ago, stuff was more expensive then.
FWIW, 99% of the time you get what you pay for in aftermarket parts. If someone wanted to go buy my heads they better bring about $6k++ with them. It all depends on the application and what you want out of the car. You can spend as little or as much as you want.

FWIW, the heads are the same in those two links, the cams are the difference.

Well, AFR heads are AFR heads, no matter where you get them and a cam is usually around $400 (just for the cam).
Personally I would go with the 205's instead of the 225's listed. They will be better overall on a stock CI motor. I know if you look around you can get them for around $2300 and when you add a cam to that you come up with $2700.
