got the new cam in today, and sounds great
finally got the new torquer v3 installed with double springs , prods, tit retainers, ls6 oil pump and ls2 timing chain. all on stock heads, the car sounds awesome, and thanks to matt and john at texas speed with all the help they gave me during the install. by the way the worst part was the oil pump pickup tube bolt, wow that was tough to get back in.

ill get it on the track soon enough, going to get the dyno tune in two weeks. the whole project took 4 days working on and off through out the days. first cam install and i went slow to double sure everything went well. the only thing that was an inconvenience was the bolt i was using to compress the springs broke on the last two valves, o and by the way the top dead center method of holding the valves up is the easiest way, just make sure you are top dead center on that cylinder.

Hopefully your car will produce good numbers. Mine didn't, so now I'm on the search for heads. Haven't got down to the track either, all these evening thunderstorms are wreaking havoc.

I actually didn't drop the pan at all to get the bolt out. I ended up draining my oil putting a rag inside the oil pan so just in case I dropped the bolt it would land on the rag and I would be good.
Now when I went to put in the bolt I had to lower the oil pan just to make it a lot easier than it was. For me to get it back in I ended up using forceps just to get a few threads started.

You definitely need to lower the oil pan for the o-ring. I don't think you could get it to come down enough to get it off without doing so. Only takes a few extra minutes and saves some headache. I used a piece of solid copper wire, made a tight loop, and used it to hold the bolt while I started the threads. Ratchet wrench also would make this a breeze.
