With a 112, it will lope some. Obviously your looking into a cam that drive exactly like stock or you wouldnt even consider doing all that work for a Hot cam. I would say a 224/224 or better yet, a 228 would be better. Thats just me, call Cam Motion or COMP and talk to them.

Looked into this quite a bit. Supposedly you can use your stock converter etc.
It does sound very mean but im sure a custom grind cam could yield you better results IMO.

For GM cams I've always liked the ASA 226/236 .525/.525 110 LSA.
A bit more powerfull then the Hotcam with a nice choppy Idle and also easy on valvesprings.

110 LSA will do that. Myself, Got a 114 LSA with a 110 ICL and a nice 4" E cut out. Same affect.

best of all i got 28 mpg on the highway through 4.10's comin home from the tuner

On the other side of the spectrum, for us a4 guys, on most sites it says you can run these with a stock converter and be fine. Probably a 22-2600 stall would be better because of the tendancy to push through the brakes.

Sweet! I need to get pictures of our 79.

Should be a good cam for that project though

keeping the fuel injection actually, i been trying to figure out a way to mount the shaker, i will have to get it shoved down in it first then think about it a bit and go from there

+1 Just installed one of these

Cam install is just too much work for a small GM hotcam. You'll probably wish you went bigger.

    Pretty much all you need.

Although depending on mileage, I would look into an LS2 timing chain and upgraded oil pump.
Also verify you will be getting the new batch of COMP 918 valvesprings.
