Sebring Silver- 98 Z-28 camaro
Found a tuner, cheap too
I was looking around for someone to tune my car and ran across Dragon's Breath performance right outside of Knoxville. He is going to do a street tune for $250.00 and the dyno tune is $400.00. The street tune is a tune where he downloads a program onto my computer, deletes emmissions codes and drives the car while adjusting whatever it is he has to do to get the A/F mixture, shift points, rev limiter and other such stuff right. The dyno tune is for WOT tuning and finding out how much HP my car makes. I guess that's how he does it, not bad though considering Speed Engineering wanted about 6 hours of dyno time at $150.00 an hour with another $400.00 in tuning fee's.

I think Speed Engineering was just giving you a really bad quote it seems. I had mine tuned at Speed Inc, pretty well known shop. It was $450 for a dyno tune or $150 for a basic tune, which includes the same things as the "street" tune you mentioned. I dont know why they would want 6 hours of dyno time..it took them about an hour to an hour and a half to tune my car.

Hmm, well, that's strange. I might have misunderstood the guy I talked to then but I swear he said it would take some time to get mine right. How much extra power did they manage to get out of ya'll's cars? This shop is in East Tennessee too, are we talking about the same one? Thanks
