Forged stock cranks?

My friend said that LS1's come stock with forged cranks? Is that true?

ls6 or 9 or both, but i'm pretty sure ls1's didn't

none of them are forged. they're nodular. better than plain cast, not as good as forged.

if ya got a forged crank from factory you won the lottery.

LS7's/9's are forged.

LS1's are cracked powder like the rods IIRC. Better than nodular.

Some people have pushed them succesfully to 700+ (flywheel). They are a stout piece no doubt.

you can get them treated by machine shops to make them even stouter. it is definately a formidable piece.
