So basically I just have to notch the bottom of the intake to make it fit?? I shouldn't need any crossover kits or plugs??

Looks like the intake port gaskets are still on it, can I re-use those or should I buy new ones??
You should be a ble to reuse the intake port gaskets, as they are designed to be reused. I would check em out though.
Yes, you have to notch the bottom of the intake, but not much. No, you do not need the crossover pipes or any kind of plug.

There is a bulletin out concerning foam/ knock sensors. GM recommends removing the back foam pad to let water drain out of the back of the engine. The foam traps water under the intake when you wash your engine which gets down into the knock sensor holes and corrodes the sensors. They say to put a bead of silicone around the plug that covers the knock sensor to seal them off too.

Nice info. When did that bulletin come out?

It's been out at least a couple of years. I found it when searching for bulletins on a chevy truck. It pertains to all the GenIII engines, LS1, 5.3, 4.8, etc.

I recommend using the original foam pads, though. Seeing all of the dirt that builds up inder the intake, it would be wise to reinstall.

I would say do what the bulletin says and install only the front one. that way moisture can run off of the back of the engine. If you install both, moisture gets trapped in between them and ruins your knock sensors.

After doing the FAST LSX 90mm intake on my WS-6, I have said I will never do one of those again. Well maybe I will say I won't be doing it for my firehawk. If a friend asked me to help them do one I guess I would have to do it. Funny thing, my cousin's husband was over b/s'ing with me while I was doing the intake swap. I am fighting with the fuel QD and just complaining in general. So he looks over my shoulder and says "I think I might have something in the truck that would work for that". I look at my dad and say WTF could he have in his work truck for it, BTW he is an A/C heating repairman. Well here he comes back with the damn QD removal tool. I wanted to kick myself square in the ass for fighting with it for all that time. But anyways Good Times.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I had a whole set of the cheap ones from autozone, and I lost the one I needed. After trying to make a bigger one work, I just cut it down to size. After I got it off, I found the one I needed.
    Go Figure!

Yea I thought it was a pretty good deal too.

Its a brand new LS6 intake off of a Corvette, no hardware included though, but I should be able to re-use all the old hardware off of my LS1 manifold. Gaskets are on it too.
