First time pulling head
Well after two weeks of trying to trouble shoot and tons of money spent replacing the obvious (needed it anyway I guess, Plugs, wires, all 4 Oxy Sensor, TPS, and MAF) I caved in and took her to a shop. I had total lack of power up to 3K, backfires, and just overall sluggishness. Also a constant misfire in #4. The compression test showed 0 compression in #4 and they're advising that I need to pull the head to find out what is going on. My guess is a bent pushrod or valve issue. Car only has 42K miles, its a 98. I've had it a year, the guy before me bought it new and had it in CO. Any advise? Do's and dont's? I'm going to pull them myself, so I'm looking for any decent write ups as well.

Do you have any codes? You should be able to tell a pushrod by pulling the valve covers. Look in the tech section for head removal procedures.

Do a leak down test, that will tell you if it's rings, valves, head gasket etc.
