    F-Bofy LSX with 500+ CI!?

So ive been looking into new build routes to take my 02 T/A due to the fact that i am going to be stationed in california for the next couple years and i came across the LSX tall deck. I know what your thinking... In california y? in my defense while im there nothing is going to be done to the car( stupid cali laws!) but i want to really start building some radical upgrades for the car seems how im going to be there for a while. Here's what im thinking and hell if you think im crazy by all means let me know. The new tall deck allow for 500+ cubic inches on the LS design. Why not cram it in an F-Body? I'm curious to here everyone's thoughts on the matter?

I take it that by tall deck, your talking about longer sleeves and the 1 inch deck plate ontop of the block? A guy I know is building a 500+ci ls1 with these. Your talking big bucks, but big power too... I'd like to see more of these builds.

In Cali you have the emissions Nazis, but, keep a stock computer and stock motor...build your dream motor and when emissions come up, just swap motors and run it through...lots of work, but worth it in my opinion

ERL performance has a turnkey 500 ci, price one out for a long block it was about 15000 bucks something like that, Me I think it would be badass no doubt about it. Just damn expensive.

Apparently the new tall decks are capable of a 4.500 stroke with a 4.250 bore. Works out to a 511ci engine. Due to the exspensize nature of the build and what I'm going to have to do to the rest of the car it'll prolly never bee done to be able to see cali roads. Def worth it though if I did get it done to do the motor swap to stick it too thoughs nazis!!! Def badass too. Def wanna see more of these builds.

I believe it's HKE that offers a 457 or 460 that will run mid 9's in the quarter in a 3300lb car. It's also turn key and cost around $15-16k.

Yeah I've only ever heard good things about HKE...that's definitely something to consider prior to making such an expensive purchase.

Same here on things from HKE. As far as looking into before making a decision I'm definetly going to be doing that. With the cost of it I wanna make sure I am going to be happy with what I get.

I think GMhighperformance magazine did an article a couple months ago w/ a RHS block and it was around 502ci and made something like 671hp through 1 3/4 long tubes and stock ls7 heads so there's room for a lot more w/ bigger headers and higher flowing heads.

Ya I was looking into some 32v heads by a guy out in cali. 405cfm at .600 lift!!! Only problem is they are about 7500 for a complete set!!! I figure though with me having about 4 years to put this motor together I might as well. Ill look them back up and post the link.

Man that hke motor is not a bad price at all for what you get. still alot of money but build a smaller ci motor and run a little spray.

Might want to be careful...I've never seen or heard of anyone running those heads...probably a reason for that.
