hey, i have 02 ss with pacesetter lt's and y pipe, everything else is stock, i really want to hit 400 rwhp and am wondering what are the cheapest mods and quickest way to hit that mark? Also is it better to port and polish my ls1 heads or get some brand new ls6 heads?

    98 Formula
    06 duramax

    spray it...cheapest and fastest way.
If you're going the heads/cam route I would spend the money on ported LS6 heads although I just went with stage 2.5 5.3L heads.

Hey a little off topic but do you have any pics of the car in a lit area or maybe from a different angle? I saw a camaro in Utah when I was in the military that looked like it was the 35th anniversary paint job except it was in silver also. The silver paint and checkered black stripes is still the sharpest combo I have ever seen. It is no surprise to me that even after the vehicle sold it was still from time to time parked inside the showroom. That to me would be the best compliment ever. Oh yeah and the nitrous would be the cheapest initial way to 400 RWHP. But if you use it enough you are going to have made up the cost difference of the heads and cam.

Im actually in the process of doing a lot more things to the exterior of the car. Right now that black checkered pattern is vinyl but im tracing that and painting it with gloss black paint. The vinyl just doesnt hold up well, esp since i have to drive every day! I will take some pics when im done!

I'm not a real big fan of polishing. Leaving the intake ports un-polished helps fuel atomization greatly. Cheapest, and quickest mod would be nitrous-oxide....
