    engine ping

hey guys I have been having problems with high rpm ping for a while now and cant seem to figure out what is causing it. But i was reading about someone with bent pushrods on the site and was wondering if this might be the cause. their is no ticking noise at idle or through out the rpm range, the engine sounds very healthy, just the high rpm ping. and i tried everything to fix it. i think this might be my last resort. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

    Sadly now demodded :(

Have you ever had the car tuned? Pinging is usually caused by incorrect fuel (too low octane) and/or to much ignition lead.

no, I never had it tuned Ive had the car for the past 3 years maybe the previous owner had it done i dont know. But I wanted to try and make sure the problem was nothing mechanical before I try to tune around it.

How old are the plugs? Have you ever taken 1 out and checked it? Carbon build up on the piston will cause pre-ignition also.
