    down sizing cam

I just got my torquer v2 and i am going to try to do a swap. My current cam is a thunder stroker cam which is way to big. specs out at 248/254 .620/.625
i have patriot dual springs. Do i have to change anything on the current valvetrain or can i just swap the cams? Thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert on LS1 cams, but you don't have to change anything else. If you go back near a stock lift, tho, I would consider weaker springs. If you are still over .550 or so lift, if it were me, I would keep the currrent valve springs.

Biggest thing to make sure of is that the new cam does not require a different pushrod length. The Patriot Golds are good overall springs, with that big of a cam you might consider changing them out though, but that depends on the how many miles you have on them. Otherwise, you should be fine with just about any cam (always double check with who you bought the cam from, if it is a company).

Holy shit!!! That is a huge cam for 346 CI's!!! How many miles on the springs? Might be able to reuse them if its not alot of miles. I would also want a different cam coming from that donkey dick.

the motor may have 1500 miles on it. he bought the cam for a 408 and decided to put it in the stock cubes. i don't know the pushrod length, i do know that he rebuilt the bottom end with forged internals. thanks for the info.
