Does anyone know how much valve lift a stock LS1 engine can handle?
Before the valve hits the piston.

OK, I will be more specific. I am not talking about the valve springs. I am asking how much valve lift I can have before the valve hits the piston. Right now I have about 0.59" of valve lift, how much valve to piston clearance do I have? BTW: I have installed CC921 springs. These springs are good for 0.65" lift according to CompCams. The cam originally had 0.55" lift, and now I have also installed CC 1.85 rockers.

You are getting close.
The max. clearance varies depending on the cam lobes.
Some off the shelf cams are up around .640" now. Big ones on the right lobe. Older lobes would hit with that kinda lift.
