Do I need new cam bearings?

I have a 98 Ls1 with 64K. My buddy said I should replace the cam bearings along with my new cam. I know alot of people switch in different cams without touching the bearings. What do you guys think?

    My cam is 222/224 112.

no need to replace the bearings. would require you to pull the motor and completely disassemble it to do it.
