    Cyl head part number

    I have a 2000 T/A with "patriot heads". I believe them to be GM. The casting number on the pass front head is 243. Help!

    if I pickup a set of stock 243 heads and port and polish them myself.....ive done old cast iron small block heads and some honda heads, so I have some experience.
    by doing it myself could I get a noticable gain and open them up enough to work good with a decent lift cam around 230 duration?
    I can get stock heads for about $100 and do the hand work myself instead of dropping $1000 for an aftermarket set

    243's = LS6 heads. 241's are the later model LS1 heads
