    Couple Cam Questions...

i have a 01 Z-28 A4, i plan on camming it this summer once school slows down a little. mods include: Flowtech Long Tubes, Custom Y-Pipe, Corsa Catback Exhaust with Cut Out, Custom Tuned. what cam should i go with? i am going to still be running stock heads and dont plan on swapping them anytime in the near future. i want somethings thats going to sound good, and thats going to work great with what i already have done to the car. i see that a lot of the guys on here are using the 224/224 581/581 114 lsa cam from comp cams. is this going to give me the sound that i am looking for? and how much of a power gain do u think i will see by using this cam?.. i now have 345 RWHP / 360 RWTQ. should i go ahead and save up for a stall and do the cam and stall at the same time since i have an A4, or does it matter? wow thats a lot.... sorry guys, new to the cam world!

generally you want to get a stall that matches ur cam as well as changine up ur gears... you should call a sponsor and speak with them, they can tell you what mods are recommended for what cam... you'll prolly also have to upgrade ur valvetrain as well... what are you lookin for outta ur cam...

I just put that same cam on a 112LSA with Comp 918 springs and pushrods in my car 5 days ago and it is doing great. I am still on stock tune because i am waiting till i get my headers and exhaust. I have an SLP lid and catback and after the swap I could tell a pretty big difference even without headers. It also sounds really good and has a very noticible lope to it. I also did a lot of research about cams and this one was the best choice for a daily driver. I highly recommend upgrading you valvetrain with springs and pr at the least because the Comp 224R cam has XER lobes which are pretty agressive.

I got the CheTR cam (214/230@116.5lsa) from thunder racing - i put out 390rwhp@6300rpm and 375ftlbs@5000rpm with stock like idle and off idle performance - probably need a 3000rpm stall though (i have a 6 speed) - i have heard good things about the comp cams 216/220@114lsa this cam makes great torque - this i would recommend with the stock gears and stall converter (with stage 1 heads)this cam put 402rwhp@6000rpm and 390rwtq@4800rpm - this will probably be my next cam!
