will an LS2 cam fit in my LS1 AND IS IT WORTH THE SWAP?

I want to say no. There is something with the LS2 cam that won't fit.. I just can't remember right now.. but a LS1 cam will go into a LS2.

i am resurrecting this old post, because i have the same question. The only difference is it is an LS2 CAM from an 06 GTO. someone is selling their heads and CAM off the LS2. I am mostly interested in the heads, but wanted to know if the CAM would fit the LS1.

I thought I read someone say the CAM sensor was not in the same place between the LS 1 and LS2, not sure.

Unfortunately it won't work, heres why.
LS1 cam sensor at rear of block 2X cam reluctor
LS2 cam sensor on timing cover 4X cam reluctor
