cam vs. stall
I'm really thinking about upgrading to a 228 cam from my 220/224 .570/580 112lsa cam. right now I'm running a 3000 rpm stall and was wondering if I need to jump up to a 3,600 stall to get the most out of the cam.
I already have all supporting mods and ported/ polished 241 heads.
any guess on power gains from my current cam to a 228?
also what advantages/ disadvantages of going with a 112 or 114lsaLast edited by mark21742; 05-29-2009 at 03:44 AM.

Nothing much, car was built with used recycled parts. Mac mids, ory, ls6 intake, hotcam, 3500 stall, m/t dr and alot of weight reduction (3100lbs). No times with the 100 shot yet. And to answer your question, I would just leave that cam in and go with a bigger stall 3800-4000.

I would think you would see a very nice improvment with a larger stall. Of course, if you can afford both, do it Mark

Yeah why not try the bigger stall, 3800-4000 stall and see how that works. If it's not enough then at least you have the bigger stall you'll need anyways for that bigger cam.

You'll see what 15rwhp at peak horsepower at most? Find a dyno and see what you make already.

I should have milled them when I had them off the last time right now its my DD, but after I get the 87 pulsar ( can you say pimpin) lol on the road the goat will be my play toy.....then I can afford to have it down for a week or two while the heads are at the shop getting milled and 5 angle valve job

Jeez mark, your going from one extreme to the other arnt ya?
220/220 cam with a mild 3000 stall.
235/243 cam with a 4000 stall. No doubt its gonna be a change! That will be night and day. I think youll be happy if thats what your looking for. Car will be a rocket. But it will be a 180 from where your at now What LSA you thinking?

Hey mark, you could just put a nice N2 system w/150 shot & window switch!!
will be just as fast & won't hurt the motor any more than putting a cam in that
you have to spin the motor about 8000 rpm's to get max power out of!!!!
