Stock heads, 'mild' cam, you'll be close to 400 but probably not hit it unless its a happy dyno. I wouldn't go there expecting 425, you'll be disappointed when you leave with those mod's. Your going to need a full exhuast, an forget about it without at least a LS6 intake. Stay away from most Mustang Dyno's if your into the numbers game.

Well, I have an '02 so i have the LS6 intake manifold. When i said long tubes I meant full exhaust, to me if you have long tubes youre gona have all the other parts changed too. Im not looking for 425, i just dont want to go higher than that, my minimum is 400. The heads would be LS6 heads, if people suggest port and polish on them then ill do it. and the 228R cam form TSP with a tune.

Missed that your an 02. That combo will run good, it will be high 300's maybe 400. If you can find a GOOD porter with a good reputation with LSx heads and can afford it, absolutely

yup, for the heads Id go to Cartek in Garwood, NJ. Theyre extremely good there. Maybe i should go a tad larger with the cam? I liked the 228 because it was the big small cam. well see. im still way away from doing anything, just doing my homework now so i can just jump in when im ready.

i dont think that cam is going to do it for you. you need a bigger on like the tourqer 2 or some thing like that. that cam dosnt make 400 on most car's but there are a few of us like me how was lucky and got over 400 with it.

I to would like to crack the 400hp mark with only intake, exhaust, LS6 Heads and intake would the MS4 do the trick? or could a smaller cam do the trick?

^^^I'm sure with all of that and an MS4 would work. Hell, I'm at 387 with just a cam and full exhaust. Stock LS1 intake, stock LS1 heads, etc.

the ms4 is not a good steet cam imo there is no low end to it and from what i was told by my tuner they just fall of fast at the top end. with a fast and a good set of heads you can get well over 400 rwhp what a mid 230 cam with just at .600 of lift.

hmm...well, i do NOT want to fall even 1hp short of 400, so i guess ill talk to the tuner and texas speed, but i guess the torquer v2 is the next step up from the 228R. Id get the 114 lsa so it sounds more like stock.

a chart on ls1howto.com basicaly says the torquer is an extreme cam judging by the numbers: 232/234

    http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=23

"Stock heads, 'mild' cam, you'll be close to 400 but probably not "...Id get work done to the LS6 head, i wouldnt keep them stock.

Torquer V2 cam, ported LS6 heads and an LS6 intake manifold, 400 wont be a problem at all

this is tru i have stock 241 heads and bolt on's with a tourqer 2 cam and i made 403rwhp and that is the not the norm for the cam as 385 or so is what i see the most. with a good est of heads on top of that 400 rwhp is almost for sure going to happen
