cam swap 233/239 cam vs torquer v2

Alright so im planing a cam swap ive been trying to plan it right cuz the cam is probably one of the most vital parts of the motor and i only wanna do it once haha.... any ways i want a cam thats fun to DD. im a weekend warrior at the track so im looking for good power under the curve for driving around town but i want something that will be impressive at the track.

i have it narrowed down to these 2 cams both i think will show good results but like i said i wanna make sure i do this right... the texas speed 233/239 and the torquer v2

im looking for time slips, dyno graphs, how the tuning went,( heard the v2 isnt very tuner friendly) and opinions

    thanks guys!

i went with the T2 and love it, power is great and it is very DDable

But if you dont have a good tuner that could be a problem, i could hardly drive my car for the week it went untuned.

I really am considering going with a bigger cam this winter, the power is great but its addicting. Yk what they say bigger is better.

I'd go with the 233/239. I've always been a fan of this cam. Known several people that ran it with great results.

I don't know what his #s were. Was a cam only car maybe 5ish years ago before the FAST 90/90 and such were out and his car ran consistant 11 second timeslips with a six speed. Another friend ran the same cam later with a FAST 90/90 (also six speed) and he ran 11.2-11.3 at about 122 mph.

thank you thats very impressive!...i heard rumors that the 233/239 cam is more of a top end cam and doesnt make the best ower under the curve anything u could tell me about that?

Love the T2, low end power isn't the greatest but this thing SCREAMS up top. Just got it running right so no slips or dyno yet (Frost Tune) but dyno will be coming in the spring. I love this cam big time and glad I went with it. Now I may pull the heads back off and mill them down to 62CC for more power. Just got it running right TODAY and already want more power

I went from a 224/224 cam to my 232/236 cam and noticed no loss of low end torque. Low end torque doesn't win races anyway. I want that extra top end. I couldn't get in the 11s cam only with the 224. Newer one was easy. The 233/239 isn't a HUGE cam but what I consider the upper end of the midsize spectrum. Don't be skeered. I was actually gonna go with the 233/239 two years ago before my guy did this one custom for me.

You will fucking love it It is like a light switch around 2,500 rpms for me. 2,500 rpms and below and I punch it in 1st and it will hook with street tires and pull super hard up top. 2,600 rpms and above and it will fry the tires all the way through first and hit second and third. I may need to mill the heads more but don't really want to change $100 pushrods and all the other crap that goes along with it. Maybe I'll do Fast 92/92 and EWP and with my dyno see how it feels. If that aint good enough then heads come off

I have a FAST 90 now, and I just took it off to get it powdercoated. I'm kicking around the idea of getting it ported by Tony Mamo, but he just told me charges $600 for a full port job. I don't know if it's worth it for 25 more hp

As for the EWP...if I can find one cheap (not $500-$600, then I'll buy one, but I'm keeping my mechanical one for now.

Thanks. I'm happy with it being that its a cam only car with full exhaust. Stock intake, heads, and all. It tuned really well and I idle at around 800rpms

I think what you're missing is that the Torquer V.2 is more popular than the 233/239, and that you should have already bought the T V.2
