I think mine pushes it. Although with a little more work on the tune with my guy, it should be better. No tuning until after the FAST gets worked by Mamo.

Last line wasn't there whileI was quoting you. Saw it after I hit submit but liked my post and decided to leave it as is. Deal with it.

Could someone explain the 112 lsa...113, 114. What exactly do these numbers mean. Does it have something to do with idle or what?

    Idle and RPM range.

I can never remember exactly which way the LSA moves the powerband of the cam.

Now I didnt read any of the responses so if I'm being redundant then forgive me.....but to the original question....bet your ass it is worth it.....Look...the LS1 heads flow really well straight from the factory.....you may entertain porting and polishing them....but I leave that up to you....gains are there though....but on a budget...and needing some extra ponies and a little lope at the light I really like the Texas Speed Magic Stick 4.....get your valve springs upgraded and a tune and you should have a true gain of like 60-70 RWHP....on bone stockheads....
Here is a link for you man.... http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=666&catid=20
I think it is a very good cam for what you are talking about...the bonus is...it really lopes at idle....but delivers killer torque and RWHP for well under $1000 for everything required.....
This is my signature. It is mine. Nobody else has one like it.

This is where Sarge and I will disagree.
Unless you just want dyno numbers...then get the biggest cam you can find.

I still say the TSP 228R (I think that is right) would be a better fit for a car that gets all kinds of different driving done. The Magic Stick cams are great, but unless you are set up to take advantage of the shorter powerband of larger cams, then you could still get beaten by cars with smaller cams that you.
