Cam Size?
How big of a cam are you guys running and still passing emmissions? I want to go big with a nasty idle but it must pass emmissions. It will be run with pacesetter headers and high flow y pipe w/cat.

About the biggest you can go is a texas speed 224R. Lucky me I don't have to worry about emissions.

Depends on the restrictions.
Still trying to decide if I want to see if I can get my 248/254 629/622 113 by. (In a stroker)

does the stroker make a differene? I wanted something in the 230's (intake and exhaust duration) on a 112 LSA for a lopey idle. Is that out of the question?

Going to be running cats I assume?
Might be able to tune that around emissions. The 112 will make it tough.
And yes, the stroker makes a difference. The cubes 'eat up' the cam size.

yes i will be running cats.
A 114 LSA isn't going to be a very choppy idle will it...

You would be surprised.
But it won't be as much as the 112.
230 cams on a 114 are great street/driveable cams.

I really wanted the TSP 231/237 112LSA. That would probably give me enough power with a good power band and the idle that I'm looking for....but will it pass emmissions haha

If I lived somewhere like that, I'd run a stock cam for a day or two and just swap it back out for the rest of the year. If you are already setup for the big cam, the swap back and forth wouldn't take too long.

can i get it tuned to pass emmissions? And then have it tuned back to where i want it for the rest of the year? It is in my daily driver but I dont drive a lot...maybe only a few miles a day if that, so I'm not concerned about drivability really.

ya its a sniffer and visual....I'm assuming (they look under the car).
I'm not going to be doing my swap so I didnt want to pay someone to swap it out once a year.

Sniffer they test the exhaust emitted from the car.
ODB they basicly check the computer and pass you.

When they passed my car last time they checked the emmissions, looked under the car, and i think checked the computer.
So is a 231/237 112LSA too much to ask for? If it is, what other cam would give me good power with a lopey idle and pass?
