    It is hard to say.

Colorado currently has pretty easy tailpipe emissions. But it gets touchy for the 230 cams.

It's mainly the valve overlap. Since the intake and exhaust valve will both be open at the same time, it allows unused gas to expell into the exhaust and when the catalyctic, ?spelling, converter doesn't burn off the gas it is emitted into the atmosphere.

The 231/237 will not pass. Stick to a 22X/22X cam with a 114 to safely pass emissions.

Decided to go with a 23x/23x cam lol passed emissions the day before car went to the shop so I'm good for 2 years. By then I'll be in college and I probably wont use this car as a daily driver.....probably just a track car.
Mr.Lous, its the same cam Chad got.

I know its not going to pass, thats why i got it passed before I sent it up. I have a few ideas of what I'll do with the car when the time comes to pass again, but depending where i decide to go to school, a lot of states dont require emissions....so maybe I'll get lucky (I'm from Kansas and they aren't required there)

couldn't you find a weekend when you're not doing much and swap the stock cam back in, get it passed, and then swap it back?

If I had sniffer tests I'd prolly get that QTP two piece timing cover. Make cam swaps a breeze.

my car is tagged in Maryland, we have both odb and sniffer. Because my front bumper and sideskirts are so low they can' get it on the dyno for the sniffer so all they can do is use the odb

    haha nice.
I think here if there is anything that doesnt allow the car to be put on the dyno "safely" they refuse to test it at all

several years ago I had a VW golf. they gave me an emissions waiver because it was severly lowered and they were afraid to drive it up on the dyno. lol

    lol
i read on my county's website that you have to have proof of at least $750 in repairs before they'll give you a waiver.

my friend Scott has an s-10 4x4 with a 283 in it. we both went out to get our test done at the same time. he failed but got a waiver because he had the receipts for his new exhaust with cats. they pulled me out of line and I just had to pay $14 fee and got my waiver lol so if you live in MD just lower your car its cheaper

got the car back today. After the headers, ORY, and cam the car sounds great. It's loud as fck but i think it sounds awesome. Haven't gotten on it yet because they said 250 mile break in period.....so the countdown begins.
Dyno on Friday so I'll try to post up some numbers then.

P.S. Mr.Luos, i was that redheaded kid that was leaving Trent's when you came. Nice to match a face with the name.
